Tarandowah Golfers Club

Tarandowah offers 18 holes on 163 picturesque acres of scenic and serene beauty. The feel of the famous inland-links courses of British Open calibre is omnipresent in its firm yet sloping and undulating fairways which will consist of bent grass, tee-to-green, and wispy fescue. Our full 18 will be in perfect condition and will open in May 2007. Tarandowah is located on PUTNAM ROAD just 8 minutes off the 401 on the south side of the village of AVON. Tarandowah (TAR-AN-DOW-AH) is a Championship Caliber 18-hole “pure” Inland Links which complete’s the existing but upgraded and full-featured Tarandowah Golf Academy.

“Tarandowah” incorporate’s many distinctive service and design features perhaps best described as…uncompromising. We have selected the rolling, wind swept, sand based lands of Malahide County located a few minutes east of London Ontario to build this significant Inland Links.

Tarandowah will meet or exceed the scratch ratings and we intend the strategic challenge of the Greatest Links courses of the world. Designed as a par 70 of 7,067 yards Tarandowah’s “scratch” rating will be a minimum of 4.5 strokes over par, making it one of the most challenging tests of golf in the world. An elegant Shinnecock inspired 5000 sq ft clubhouse that features locker rooms and lounge will compliment this most distinctive Golfers Club. Details on completion are not yet finalized but are in our master plan. The temporary facility is currently under construction. Please check our updates page for more information. We will have our temporary facility opened for the 2007 season.

To ensure that our Links meet the design and construction attributes of the Great Links of Britain we have gone to the source: Britain and Dr. Martin Hawtree of Hawtree Limited, the longest continuing Golf Course Architectural firm in the world. There are few if any greater authorities of Links Golf. The Hawtree list of courses built, reconstructed and/or consulted on totals more than 750 and includes Royal Birkdale, Portmarnock, Lahinch and Killarney. They have partnered and collaborated with historic golfing greats J.H. Taylor and James Baird.

Tarandowah…is not pretty, though some may describe her as beautiful. There are no flowerbeds or flashed shallow bunkers intended for show more than challenge. Tarandowah is best described as wild, ominous and foreboding; a most cunning and ferocious Inland Links of British Open pedigree. slainte! Enjoy the adventure of pure golf!
